I managed to borrow a Fairlight CVI [Computer Video Instrument] for the weekend. I had already recoded the guitar solo - using my Kramer guitar and then set up a "blue screen" to video this colour extravaganza. The full track goes for 17minutes. Recorded in my home studio in Sydney in 1986.

"At The Moment" - on original guitar instrumental composed by myself in the early 80's and -re-invented many times over the past few decades. This version was recorded in late 2010.  The original melody - has been switched to providing a basis for a new idea...an added guitar solo on top. The images in this video were taken in "Alice Springs - Northern Territory of Australia - on "Territory Night"..1st July 2010.

The Fairlight CVI - was working hard that weekend - back in 1986. Got this clip called "Head Talking" together - while i put down the solo guitar track.
I didn't have the instruction manual for the CVI - so seeing what those buttons and sliders did was fun. I was using the Custom "24K Gold" plated everything Stratocaster - should never have sold that one.

This is the original multitrack version recorded in Sydney in 1986. I used the "Fairlight CVI" for the "special effect" in the clip. Sorry 'bout the bad lip sync - I got the verses back to front - and due to limited time and no sleep for 2 1/2 Days - one take was all I had time for.

"Summers Day" is an original composition written somewhere in the early 80's & recorded by myself in the home studio 1986. The original was a vocal / guitar song with the guitar tuned to an open chord. I recorded this version on a Tascam 244 [Analog Tape]. The video clip - done in one take with no rehearsal - and badly lip synced. The special effects were achieved using a Fairlight CVI, I borrowed for the weekend.

"I Still Love You" is an original composition written & recorded by myself in the home studio 1986. The video clip - done in one take - and badly lip synced. Would have been nice to have the "Fairlight CVI" for at least one more weekend - who knows - I may have even had the chance to do two takes...Oh Well!

"I Can't Understand" was written - before 1985 - I'm going through the cassette tapes to try to get a date. This version - without drums - was done in Sydney in 1985. The solo - simple as it is - was planned to be played entirely differently in a live situation. Fuzz Box on maximum was the idea. I have a version of this...somewhere.
